Moiseyev is a winner of an illegal world championship draughts problemism

Alexander Moiseyev is the winner of the sixth World championship. It was however a very disputable championship, organized by the Committee of Problemism of the FMJD. Shortly summarized: this championship should never have been organized. Every legitimacy is lacking. The problemists, among those for Dutch, participated for joker.

Some years ago, especially when the problemism on 64 squares was annexed by the CPI, there rose big problems inside and outside of the commission. In the time before, for instance when Jaap Bus, Serge Yushkevitch and Vladimir Matus were members of the commission, useful decisions were taken. After their departure and the entrance of gentlemen of the small board (64) the commission very soon derailed. The misery was so high that the highest bosses of the FMJD were obliged to call the CPI to order: the conflicts should be solved and the Augean stables should be cleansed, only on that condition the activities of the CPI should be acknowledged by the FMJD. But nothing is solved. Manipulations, for instance with the international sharp rules, formulated by the CPI are of common occurrence.
The especially unpalatable way in which a respectable problemist as Fomin is and was treated, is out of all proportions.

Spijkstra
Around this illegal world championship arose a dubious situation around Auke Spijkstra. In an inconsiderate moment he was seduced by the organizers to take part of the jury. It is doubtful if this was reasonable of Spijkstra, but apart from that: he is treated immodestly, in formal terms for the reason that he was not in time with his judgements. What a world of misery is lying behind that?

It is high time that the FMJD sets the acts, in the interest of the world of draughts and of problemism. Back to the ‘world championship’. There were five categories: Moiseyev ended high in all categories and obtained in that way the first place. Morkus (Lithuania) and Perepelkin (Russia) were 2 and 3.

Enjoy
There were four Dutch participators, with moderate results: Henk van der Heijden 19, Tjipke Smedinga 25, Jasper Lemmen 29. Tjalling Goedemoed was also one of the participators. Posthumously his result was 36.
The fact that big questions can be put at this world championship does not mean that we could not enjoy a lot. Indeed, this was the case.

Spijkstra
